Contents page!

I did the whole contents page based on one of the 'Cosmopolitan' magazine contents' page. I used a picture of my model in the middle as well, used some pictures from my holidays this summer and my own blog. All the images on the contents page are originally taken.

The use of colours connotes about my target audience. Moreover every single story on contents page is related with my research and my own college 'understanding' as I am a part of the target audience myself, always trying to keep my product up to the target market that I'm making product for.

To make it more catchy I used some abbreviations. I did not put the colour on the contents page itself, as I thought it might look too colorful and not connoting about young people wanting to look more mature. Also a young person like me, do not usually like bright colours. My college magazine research also shows that my target audience expectations is to mostly see black, red and white colours.

It's the very simple page of contents for my magazine, but I quite like it. The use of font also makes the target audience pay more attention to it, easier to read but still looks 'cool' for your people.

  1. A lot has been packed into the contents page. This has the effect of making it very busy and a little difficult to distinguish text and image. You are aware of this through your own evaluation.
Keep looking at/analysing real magazine contents pages for design techniques. Often less is more.
Well done for meeting the deadline.
